About the event
Come and Brighten your Winter evenings or give a short course as a perfect winter gift. These short courses are accessable, empowering and fun. Hot drinks and materials provided. £35 each or bookable as a block.
Oak Gall Ink Making
January 11th 7-9pm – £35
Come gather and learn about the ancient art of making oak gall ink. We will look at the history, science, practicalities and uses of oak gall ink and we will make our very own batch to take home. There will be time to have a go using it to do some mark making in your own little paper folded book.
Charcoal Making & Drawing
January 18th – 7-9pm – £35
Come gather around the fire and learn how to make your own willow drawing charcoal. If the weather is fine we can gather around an outdoor fire or alternatively around The studios wood burner .There will be mulled apple juice and time to draw and play. Â You will make our very own batch of charcoal to take home as well as a collection of playful drawings.
Drawing Tools – quills, pens and playful drawing equipment
January 25th – 7-9pm – £35
In this workshop you will carve your own bamboo quills, create some playful brushes and pens to add to your home made drawing box. There will be some time to test them out and get creative.
Mindful Drawing – with botanical inks & charcoalÂ
February 1st – 7-9pm – £35
We will come together for a session of playful drawing and mark making. Using nature as inspiration Naomi will lead use through a series of  activities to engage our creativity, get us playing and looking in new ways. This session will be a celebration of all the art materials that have been created in previous weeks. We will use botanical inks, charcoal and natural pigment paints.
Run by Naomi Hannam of Creative Roots– ‘I am artist, educator and nature based facilitator. My work centres around weaving connection between land, community and creativity.
