A workshop in which you will make your own felted sheep’s fleece rug – a sheep skin without the skin! We will work with a selection of beautiful shetland fleeces exploring the processes of carding, felting and the journey of wool from fleece to fibre. Please come prepared for an active day! Naomi has a background in the arts, nature connection, facilitation and group work. This workshop reflects the alchemy of a craft based on raw materials from the land and the processes that turn it into something new. It is a time to embody a craft and allow our hands to lead the process. Over the last 8 years Naomi has been weaving and developing this work travelling to meet shepherds, small holders weavers, spinners and small flocks, exploring how fiber can be used to connect communities and build connection with the land. Find out more about Naomi’s work at www.creativeroots.earth . * please bring a packed lunch or lunch will be available from Potager Cafe.
