Natural dyes workshop - Colours of Late Autumn
An exploration of natural dyes and botanical colour with shibori technique
Time & Location
10 Nov 2023, 10:00 – 16:00
Potager Pardens, High Cross, Constantine, Falmouth TR11 5RF, UK
About the event
Come and explore the hidden dye plants of late summer alongside the colours that can be found from the scraps from the kitchen. Ever wondered what colours you can get from nettle, bramble, hawthorn or gorse? Together we will explore non toxic mordant techniques, learn to extract colours from flowers, barks and leaves and you will leave with your own shibori dyed piece of British wool and seasonal colours swatch sheet. This is a practical, playful and experiential workshop to spark your curiosity and start your natural dye journey. We will be based in Potager’s beautiful studio with time to go on a foraging walk in the gardens.
£105 including British wool and tea and coffee. Please bring a packed lunch, or you’re welcome to order lunch in the café.
