About the event

Come and explore the hidden dye plants of Cornwall alongside the colours that can be found from the scraps from Potager’s kitchen. The workshop will be based in Potager’s beautiful studio with time to go on a foraging walk in the gardens. Explore non toxic mordant techniques, learn to extract colours from flowers, barks and leaves and leave with your very own shibori dyed piece of silk and swatch sheet. Run by Naomi Hannam – ‘I am artist, educator and nature based facilitator. My work centres around weaving connection between land, community and creativity. I work with the abundance of nature to celebrate beauty, play and curiosity through practical relationships with plants, fungi and fibre’. You can find out more about Naomi’s work at www.creativeroots.earth This workshop would be suitable to do in addition to the Exploration of Natural Dyes but please get in touch with Naomi If you are interested in doing both courses so I can ensure we explore different dye plants – Naomikhannam@gmail.com Tea and coffee will be provided – please bring a packed lunch.
