Creative Facilitation 

Creative Roots offers bespoke workshops and creative facilitation for community groups and individuals. With over a decade's experience, therapeutic training and diverse creative tool kit, I can create something unique for your community.

What is Creative Facilitation? For me it is supporting individuals to access and develop their creativity . It is about bringing creative processes, supporting curiosity and making creativity accessible, empowering and fun for everyone. I specialise in using creativity to connect groups and individuals with nature and a building a greater sense of wellbeing & belonging.  

 

I have experience of supporting neurodiverse communities, Dementia groups, Rehab groups, NEETS as well as running large community inclusive events. Through Creative Roots, I have worked with organisations such as The Sensory Trust, The Eden Project,Shallal Arts, Boscene Farm Rehab Center, Fields Studies Council, On The Hill and IMAYLA.

Shallal Arts

 

Knitted Together Project (2022)

A collaboration with Shallal Arts to run a series of sustainable textiles workshops including natural dye and felt workshops. Knitted Together is an inclusive, participative art project for all artists including those with support needs. Participants work in small groups weekly over a year to learn and then build on a series of textile and making skills Culminating in a group show. www.shallal.org

The Sensory Trust 

Postal Projects (2020-21) 

A pandemic collaboration with The Sensory Trust to create demential friendly, postal packs that supported those living with dementia & their careers to connect with nature and a wider community. Two different packs were sent to over 150 individuals self isolating across Cornwall. Each pack contained a series of activities and materials to  creatively connect with nature from people's homes.

A Forest Of Hope (2021)

A Cross Generational postal project to connect school children with residents of local care homes. You can find out more about the project here.

Flight, Murmuration & Journeys (2022)

A cross generation, dementia friendly project Culminating in an exhibition at The Only Connect Conference 2022.

Community Paintings


The Sunflower Project (2021-22)

As part of The Sunflower Project Cornwall Naomi has run large scale outdoor painting events in her Community with over 80 people taking part across a day.

 (2019)

A day of painting and music at Potager Garden with Naomi Hannam and Ben Sellers. Home made Marimbas played by the community and giant nature paintings organised by Creative Roots and funded by FEAST Cornwall.

FACILITATING CONNECTION

The Alchemy of Land, Craft & Community
Febuary 2018 
Embercombe

A unique training opportunity for 38 facilitators, teachers & facilitators of children & young people.  Funded by The Big Lottery at Embercombe, this was an immersion in land based craft, experiential learning & deep nature connection. Facilitated & delivered by Naomi Hannam, Linda Lemieux, Miriam Rose & Bernard Graves.
